Good evening experiences fill up weeks ahead and the great ones go first. Below: the 15 to book early, what each includes and how they differ.
Walk from Kyoto’s Minamiza Theatre through Hanamikoji and Gion with an English-speaking guide such as Hina, Shino, Masami, or Sho. Learn geiko and maiko customs, see illuminated shrines and a pagoda, and follow quieter lanes in a group of up to 10.

Join a 100-minute evening walk through Gion with an English-speaking guide such as Mia, Mie, or Chako. Learn how geiko and maiko dress, train, and work, hear local stories, and possibly spot them heading to appointments. Photos and video of geiko are not allowed.

Walk through Kyoto’s Gion district from sunset into evening with a small group of up to nine people.
